About Vectowl

Independent project · Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Vectowl is a free suite of image tools that runs entirely in your browser. No accounts, no watermarks, no upload queues — and most importantly, no servers touching your files. Every pixel is processed locally on your device using the HTML5 Canvas API and plain JavaScript.

Why we built it

Most online image tools follow the same pattern: you upload your file to someone else's server, wait, hit a daily limit, and get asked to create an account or pay to remove a watermark. For quick, everyday tasks — stripping the background off a logo, compressing a batch of photos, generating favicons — that friction makes no sense.

Vectowl takes the opposite approach. Because processing happens client-side, the tools work at the speed of your device, keep working on a slow connection once the page is loaded, and your images physically never leave your computer. There is nothing for us to store, leak or sell.

What you'll find here

Six tools, all free and unlimited: a background remover with automatic color detection and a manual brush mode, an image compressor, a format converter (PNG, JPG, WEBP, BMP), an resizer with social media presets, a color palette extractor, and a favicon generator. We also publish practical guides on the blog about working with images for the web.

How the site is funded

Vectowl is supported by a small number of clearly labeled display ads. That's the entire business model — no premium tiers, no data collection, no selling anything. If the ads ever get in the way of the tools, that's a bug: tell us.

Who is behind it

Vectowl is built and maintained by an independent developer based in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, with a background in data analysis and web development. It started as a personal tool for cleaning up logos and grew from there.
